Brian R. Jones

Mr. Jones has been involved in several capacities in the agribusiness industry.

Mr. Jones began his career in agribusiness with Desert Security Farms in California working as a farm manager. As a farm manager he was responsible for coordinating production activities for 3,500 acres of alfalfa, wheat and sudan grass.

Later, Mr. Jones pursued a graduate degree at Purdue University. Upon completion of a MS degree, he went to work for Pioneer Hi-Bred International in Des Moines Iowa as an analyst in the Supply Management Department. He supported the planning efforts for corn as well as being the primary analyst responsible for planning and monitoring production of commercial and parent corn for Pioneer’s operations in South East Asia.

After several years at Pioneer, Mr. Jones joined The Context Network, an agricultural business management consulting firm specializing in agricultural biotechnology, seed and agrochemical business analysis. During his consulting tenure, Mr. Jones worked with a majority of the major agrochemical and seed companies on various projects related to strategic planning, research targeting, opportunity analysis, competitive intelligence and market research.

In 2003, Mr. Jones joined the Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) and the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) first working in research and then in new business development where he initiated the creation of a long-term equity investment strategy. In 2013 he assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Jones grew up on a diversified row crop and grain farm in Southern Idaho. He was actively involved in producing alfalfa, sugar beets, potatoes, dry beans, wheat, and barley. He has a BS in Agribusiness with a minor in Accounting from Utah State University and a MS in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University.
